Benchmade Makes Significant Additions to Engineering Department

January 8, 2009, OREGON CITY, Ore. - Benchmade Knife Company has hired Ben Miller, Dan Janovicz, and Mike Ohlrich as Manufacturing Engineers.

“Ben, Dan, and Mike bring great experience and creativity to the Manufacturing Engineering discipline within our team,” says Dave Maxey, Director of Manufacturing. “We look forward to having them contribute to Benchmade’s growth.”

Ben Miller

Mr. Miller is working in the Lean Team. He attended Oregon State University and received a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering. His previous employment was at A-dec Inc, as a Manufacturing Engineer for delivery systems assembly. He is looking forward to working within the Lean Team to improve process efficiencies and product quality within the company.

Dan Janovicz

Mr. Janovicz has taken an assignment as Manufacturing Engineering within the Product Development Group. He attended the Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport, PA, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering as well as an A.S. in Automated Manufacturing and Tool Making Technology. His previous employment was at Logue Industries in Montoursville, PA.

Michael Ohlrich

Mr. Ohlrich will also work in the Product Development Group. He joins Benchamde from Pierce Pacific Manufacturing where he spent three years as a Design Engineer. Mr. Ohlrich attended Oregon State University where he received a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering. One of his activities at Oregon State was designing and fabricating components on their SAE Formula Car.
