Greetings!

The Vision Show in Boston and Automatica in Munich introduced a range of new products to the market. Below are short descriptions of the product lines of MATRIX VISION and VRmagic with links to more information on these products.

mvBlueCOUGAR-X
MATRIX VISION presents its all new ne-X-t generation Gigabit Ethernet camera family. The cameras are fully compliant to the latest revision of GigE Vision® and GenICam standard and make use of the latest building blocks such as large FPGA, high resolution analog front ends and supporting components. We have packed an X-traordinary amount of features in one of the smallest yet rock solid housing in our industry. The family will contain a full range of CCD and CMOS sensors, from VGA up to 5 megapixel resolution. Image quality is digitized with precision-analog front ends with up to 14 bit resolution (CCD sensors). The cameras are optimized for both machine vision tasks, relying on high frame rates combined with low latency image transport and on the other hand the images can be precisely optimized for viewing applications in life science and medical applications, where the utmost realistic image quality in terms of shades in gray scale and color fidelity, combined with best sensitivity and signal-to-noise ratio are required.

mvbf lc
The mvBlueFOX-MLC module, the newest in the mvBlueFOX line, is a fully featured compact single-board camera perfectly targeted for space and cost sensitive OEM applications. A superior image quality (high dynamic range mode is supported) in combination with a very high frame rate make the camera ideally suited for embedded applications.

MvBlueLYNX-X
mvBlueLYNX-X - A lot of power per Watt and volume NEW

The reduction of power consumption and size together with increasing of computing power are the three common approaches to become eco-friendly in Automation. There are potential savings with the right choice of the processor concept. Currently, there are two concepts on the market: Intel's Atom is deemed to be a low power processor, however, ARM processors have a better savings potential because they not only have reduced power requirements, but also are smaller in size. For this reason, MATRIX VISION's new intelligent camera solution mvBlueLYNX-X uses Texas Instruments' OMAP 3 series. These processors feature a powerful ARM-Cortex-A8 core and offer an efficient performance up to 1 GHz plus an additional, separate DSP. Atom processors reach use higher processor clocks, however, they have a considerably higher power consumption. Typically, Atom systems need 15 Watts, whereas mvBlueLYNX-X only operates with 5 Watts under full load. By using the ARM processor a small housing is possible. Without lens, the mvBlueLYNX has a size of 85 x 55 x 35 mm (H x W x D). Besides the size, OEMs and system integrators also benefit from the wide range of interfaces. The camera series feature 100 Mbit LAN; two USB 2.0 interfaces, RS-232, digital inputs and outputs, display output as well as MicroSD card interfaces. A wide range of high quality global shutter CMOS sensors from WVGA to SXGA are also available. As lens holder, the S-Mount is standard, but C- and CS-Mount lens holders are available as an option. Models with integrated illumination improve the handling and guarantee image quality. Furthermore, models with IP65 are available as well. A .NET compliant MONO interface allows the comfortable development of software. MONO makes it possible to develop .NET based cross platform applications and to use them on the mvBlueLYNX-X without further compiling.

MATRIX VISION offers a wide range of frame grabbers from low cost analog to powerful multi-channel digital frame grabbers. To view the entire range click on the link below.
mvIMPACT
mvIMPACT is a comprehensive library with high performance algorithms for fast image processing. The library offers a software architecture designed for the future with an object oriented design. OEMs and system integrators can easily use a huge number of functions for acquisition, processing, enhancement and measurement in their own application. mvIMPACT supports all MATRIX VISION frame grabbers as well as the intelligent camera mvBlueLYNX and the standard cameras mvBlueFOX and mvBlueCOUGAR in an optimum way.

Small and well defined single modules allow an easy integration in existing programs. Only the actually required modules have to be included. This modular concept allows mvIMPACT running on tiny embedded systems like mvBlueLYNX. Click on the link below.
Multi sensor camera VRmagic
Streaming, smart, intelligent. Cameras and Components VRmagic offers a wide range of USB components for industrial image processing - from external analog-to-digital converters through to FPGA components with integrated image processing and intelligent cameras that run on an autonomous operating system. Standard and Customized Designs VRmagic offers cameras in housing and OEM variants - from sensor boards through to special designs such as mulit-sensor cameras. The modules can be individually configured as required. User-friendly Features All components are extremely user-friendly and offer numerous options - such as access to uncompressed raw sensor data and stepless adjustment of all camera parameters. The same API for all Components The product range is complemented by development software for convenient component integration and programming. The free Software Development Kit contains an API that works with all models from VRmagic. A Generic Property Interface allows access to all camera parameters.

FRAME GRABBER The easiest way to connect an analog camera to a laptop or PC! For applications with NTSC- or PAL-cameras VRmagic offers different lightweight models of USB- powered frame grabbers. The product line covers streaming components as well as smart FPGA-versions. All models feature timestamps and frame counter. Up to nine user-configurations can be stored on the converter. More info
