There is something about pain and anger that seems to do something inside. It does tighten you up but at the same time if-- if you let the emotions take their course in a healthy way you see the solutions, not always the ones you want... This is something I'm still learning!!!(always will) It's okay to scream,"I had enough!!!" It's alright to be in pain and anger, when you know, just know when it is NOT okay to blame yourself for being wrong because of pain and anger. If Blacks had not gotten hurt or angry things would not have changed, or Women at being property, to where they can be viewed as themselves. What of the LGBT communities who battle people telling them they are wrong for being this way? What of the battered families/partners who start over, hard as it is to do? What of the bullied child for whom life seems only to dump ______ but somehow finds a rainbow? So as I go through this I know answers will come. Again, not what is always wanted but perhaps my pain and anger will be the fuel-- fuel for something greater that only the Creator knows. So here I go-- Creator, please hold my hand, I'm scared... -- by Erine Sedicum, 8-19-2012

*"On Being" is a spacious conversation about meaning, faith, ethics, and ideas -- online and on public radio. Krista Tippett and her guests discuss the big questions at the center of human life, from the boldest new science of the human brain to the most ancient traditions of the human spirit.
The 8-16-2012 program was on "Fragility and the Evolution of our Humanity," an interview with Xavier Le Pichon. He is a scientist, a compassionate person, and a passionate story-teller who speaks about plate techtonics, evolution, the importance of weakness and fragility in community, companionship, diversity, suffering, empathy, openness to others and accepting to have our hearts be educated by them, human potential, and possibilities for the future transformation of our world.
The program is one hour long. A new interview is presented each Thursday on their website.

In our lives, it is through the work of spiritual practice that we find our deep and true selves.
Through the arts of meditation and silence we cultivate a clarity of mind and move beyond fear into compassion and community.
