God Says Yes To Me
I asked God if it was okay to be melodramatic
and she said yes
I asked her if it was okay to be short
and she said it sure is
I asked her if I could wear nail polish
or not wear nail polish
and she said honey
she calls me that sometimes
she said you can do just exactly
what you want to
Thanks God I said
And is it even okay if I don't paragraph
my letters

Evolve Chesapeake: a spiritual community where you can share a poem like this and no one would be outraged that God is portrayed as a female. It's a community that shares the joy of your seeking even if it isn't quite where their individual hearts and heads are at. It's a community that says "Come as you are" in regard to both your outward presence as well as your inner self and your views/beliefs/faith/truth in the Divine. It's a spiritual community that says "Yes."
