Dances with Dragons Climax DC-Area Creation Spirituality Gathering
R/Evolutionary Theologian Matthew Fox keynotes, teaches at weekend of leading-edge spiritual experience, learning, growth and Cosmic Celebration.
All the magic, mystery and mythic power of dragons will arise as a dynamic crowd of healers, artists, community-builders, mystics, activists, and seekers evoke their inner fire in "Awakening Imagination for Transformation: A Gathering of Creation Spirituality Communities," scheduled July 27-29 at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Rockville in Rockville, Maryland. Hosted by Evolve Chesapeake and Creation Spirituality Communities, the radically inclusive weekend features a keynote by the (r)evolutionary theologian and author Matthew Fox, Ph.D., along with workshops on community-building, spiritual activism, art as meditation and body prayer. Evoking archetypal images of dragons through art and experiential workshops, the weekend offers an opportunity to reach beyond the "either/or" of the reptilian brain to dance in an inclusive "both/and" perspective, embracing diversity and interconnectedness to achieve global healing. The House passed a bill which would make cuts in programs and be devastating to many people: food stamps, WIC (assistance to women, infants and children), Medicaid, Meals on Wheels, school lunches, the Child Tax Credit, international food aid and more. You can make your voice heard on behalf of people struggling to make ends meet. Just pick up the two letters (to Rep. John Boehner and Rep. Paul Ryan), add your name, address and signature, and mail them.
