2:30 to 4:30 PM
All Members and Companions are encouraged to attend the Special Congregational Meeting on Sunday, February 20, to vote on disaffiliation from UFMCC, adopt Bylaw amendments, and choose a new name for our community. The Transition Team and its task forces have been working very hard at preparing for these changes and launching our new community.
The Rev. Stephanie Burns from our area Network Team, will bring greetings from our Elder, The Rev. Diane Fisher, and witness our meeting on behalf of UFMCC.
In the event of inclement weather on February 20, the meeting will be held the following Sunday. |

Affirmation of Pastoral Leadership
Dear friends,
This Sunday, as part of the Celebration, we will be affirming Wayne as our pastor. We would like members and friends of our community to be a part of this affirmation. What we are looking for is your answer to one (or both) of these questions:
"What has Wayne's ministry meant for your spiritual journey?"
"Why would you affirm his ordination and leadership in this community
as we go forward?"
We, also, ask that you think about a small gift to bring to set on the table during this ceremony. Ideally, it would be something small such as a sea shell, a piece of fruit, a photo or small piece of artwork, whatever is representative of your spiritual journey under his leadership. You will be asked to explain what your gift is, how it is significant or what the gift represents, you will place it on the table, and then you can share with Wayne and the community your answer to the above questions. You will then be directed to stand in a semicircle around Wayne until all have had the chance to participate.
If the notion terrifies you, that's OK. Perhaps you can walk up with another person and have them read your response after they've given theirs. If that's an unacceptable option for you, you are invited to call or write me and we'll work something out. All will be invited to gather around Wayne whether they have presented a gift and/or an affirmation, or not, and a prayer will be offered. (Your participation level will not be noted on your "permanent record".)
Also, please don't forget to attend the Special Congregational Meeting this Sunday at 2:30 PM.
I truly hope to see you on Sunday as we enter a new phase of our spiritual journey as a community!
Your Companion,
Suzie Robertson
