For independent & unsigned musicians from USA, UK, Canada, Europe, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Hong Kong, Middle East, Vietnam and China.
The awards allows submissions from bedroom DJs, college acts, concert performances and even demo versions. It also champions singles rather than albums and recognizes songs of all languages in all genres including electronica,hip-hop, metal, pop, dance, rock and mash-ups/remixes. Under the VIMA awards, special categories for Best Chinese and Best Indian Act have also been included to elevate niche markets. The prizes awaiting the winners of the sub-awards and the grand final include recording deals, international tours, global publicity and media packages, ambassadors to brands, opportunity to headline international concerts, opportunities to collaborate top musicians and producers and the prestigious crystal awards. Well for over seven years, at all our events, we've had reviewers come and watch the bands perform and then write their honest reviews. Some reviews are better than others, some longer than others but all honest.

Punk fans in HK - rejoice! The last day of Jan in 2012, we shall be graced by none other less than one of the first punk bands to hit the airwaves EVER - The Damned!! Being first-wave forefathers of their glorious, riotous sound hasn't stemmed their desire to Smash it Up, and so they're gonna blast your ears out at Grappa's Cellar.
