Answer you're looking for: Besides actively raising funds and traveling to churches, we continue serving in various areas:
- Mike serves under the Mexico Area Director as facilitator of missionaries involved in evangelism, church planting, and construction (called The Builders Team). There are new churches beginning, evangelistic outreaches large and small throughout the country, and ongoing construction even as you read this.
- I (Ilona) coordinate the Mexico Missionary Field Prayer Network by preparing weekly e-mails that highlight specific missionaries' families and their ministries, inviting others to fast and pray for needed requests. The first week of every month is dedicated to praying for the 10/40 window of Latin America. This is an area of Mexico known as the "Heart of Darkness". You may subscribe to this network by clicking here.
- While in Ohio, both Mike and I currently serve on the Ohio District Missions committee led by Supt. Doug Clay and District Missions Director Jim Palmer.
The ministry to the Old Colony Germans in northern Mexico continues, led by our young adult mentorees as a missions outreach of our home church in Chihuahua, Palabra Viva. Pursuing the indigenous principle, they will be taking over the work in the north, while we will be going to the south to pioneer another work among the Old Colony Germans upon our return to Mexico in Janaury 2008. |
