The May issue of Wine Enthusiast features a review of our USDA Certified Organic NSA Rosso Convento by La Cantina Pizzolato. Monica Larner, the Italian reviewer for the magazine had this to say about the wine:
"Rosso Convento is a 50-50 blend of Merlot and Cabernet made from organically grown fruit in northern Italy. This is a simple but genuine wine that would pair with easy pasta dishes or take-home pizza. The
mouthfeel is firm, tight and streamlined."

We are very pleased with this review from a major publication, particularly noting that this wine was judged head-to-head with other conventional Italian reds that contain sulfites. NSA certified organic wines have grown in popularity in the United States and we offer unique, high quality Italian selections that you can sell with confidence.
Rosso Convento is a blend of 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet, grown in the Veneto region of Italy, Piave DOC. The wine is one of three NSA reds offered by La Cantina Pizzolato, which also include a 100% Cabernet and a 100% Merlot.
About the Winemaker
Pizzolato NSA wines were developed by by Settimo Pizzolato, a 5th generation winemaker. La Cantina Pizzolato estate is located in the rich and flourishing countryside in the north of Treviso, Italy. The NSA wines are developed using classic red vinification without the addition of sulfites. The best and healthy grapes are rigorously chosen and picked by hand. The fermentation is activated with selected yeasts and skin at a low temperature. The wine is then filtered and stored in steel tanks with a controlled temperature to avoid possible oxidations.
"We began working with NSA wines in 2007, which turned out to be a very good vintage for NSA Cabernet Sauvignon," said winemaker Settimo Pizzolato. "We knew that without great grapes we could not have a good wine without sulfites. We continue to work in the vineyards every day to give the plants the best conditions that ensure healthy grapes for our NSA wines."
Pizzolato NSA reds are available now in our warehouse. Please let me know if you have any additional questions about the wines or the family Pizzolato.
Sincerely,
