Blogging for Your Business Workshops
Greetings!

When the going gets tough, the tough get...training? My clients do.I've been prepping them to ask for funding, adapt existing efforts to social-media platforms, stretch a communications budget, and craft effective messages for live audiences.

I've also been busy speaking: This month's Capital Communicators Group session on social media policy sold out in less than a day.  If you missed it, links to the questions and answers and two electronic handouts are at right.  And I had a great time on Darwin's 200th birthday training a massive group of scientists at the American Association for the Advancement of Science annual meeting in Chicago this month.  Next up: Keynoting the Construction Writers of America conference, and another Communicating Science workshop for AAAS, in Corvallis, Oregon, both in early May.

If new communications strategies, training or content are among your current needs, contact me at info@dontgetcaught.biz.

Sincerely,
President
Re-Tool Your Training in Tough Times
Improve Communications Skills from Speaking to Social Media
Times are tough and budgets are tight--so our clients are looking for re-tooled training sessions that focus on these types of solutions:
  • Learning to use social media:  Savvy communications teams are working with us to create training retreats that orient their staff members all at once to using social media platforms for communications, including developing pilot projects and talking about pitfalls and pushback. As social-media options can offer lower-cost ways to reach your audience, these are especially popular in tough economic times.
  • Stretching budgets:  We're doing communications staff and board retreats that help organizations figure out how to do more with less, and do it strategically--ideally, expanding your reach without expanding your costs.
  • Boosting speaking skills: Selling yourself and your message is even more important, especially if you're fighting for funding from Congress or venture capitalists. We can help you learn to handle tough questions, speak without notes and craft an effective message.

We even give you consumer-savvy tips about questions to ask about training options.
