Greetings!

This issue marks the start of our second year of publishing this newsletter, and to mark the occasion, we've created a newsletter archive page where you can find all the links, tips and ideas we've published in one place. Feel free to share it with colleagues.  As this year draws to a close, I'm especially grateful that our many readers, clients and colleagues take the time to refer don't get caught to new clients. Referrals have been a hallmark of our business from the start, and I consider them the best compliment we can get. Safe and happy holidays to you!

Best,
Denise Graveline
President

Rev Up Your (Media) Pitching

Blogging for Your Business WorkshopsIf you haven't assessed your pitching squad--or methods--in the last two years, it may be time to send the team to training camp, spring or no spring. We can help you identify issues that have long plagued media-relations teams, as well as new challenges posed by new-media options and reporters' increasing workloads. And we'll train your team to better target its pitches, from the seasoned captain to the new recruit.

On the Eloquent Woman Blog

This month on the Eloquent Woman blogBlogging for Your Business Workshops, we look at the new Denzel Washington movie, The Great Debaters, which looks at the 1930 black college debate team that was the first to compete against -- and beat -- white teams. We interviewed the movie's story developer about the lone woman on the team, Henrietta Bell Wells.  More inspiration for women speakers came from profiles of Barbara Jordan and Helen Thomas, and we looked at using e-book readers instead of a script, issues for young women in public speaking, and more.  You can now add The Eloquent Woman to your website or blog.

In January 2008, Denise Graveline will speak on new media at the annual meeting of Washington Women in Public Relations, and start a series of "CEO Insights" live interviews for the Washington chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners.
