Greetings!

This week, we're convening a luncheon focus group on The Eloquent Woman: Women and Public Speaking at the National Press Club. The August 8 session is full, but due to the overwhelming demand, a second luncheon focus group on women in public speaking is taking place next Monday, August 13, 2007 from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at the same location.  But only a few seats are left, so if you wish to attend, e-mail us at info@dontgetcaught.biz  You must receive a confirmatory e-mail from us in order to attend.  I'll report back on what we learn in a future issue.

Sincerely,
Denise Graveline
President

More Women Fear Speaking & Do It Less
Research shows that more women than men fear public speaking. Women speak less frequently in public settings, and negotiate less because they know they'll be perceived negatively. As a company that offers training to men and women in public speaking, presentation skills and media interview skills, we've started a series on our blog about "The Eloquent Woman" to help close the gap.

The new posts offer research, resources and inspiring stories
, like this one about the late Lady Bird Johnson -- once so shy, she fell behind in school to avoid giving her commencement address. And in our public speaking tips, we'll be pointing out advice all genders can use, from what color shirt works best for television appearances and speeches, to the questions you need to consider before a media interview or live-audience Q&A session.  Join in the discussion by adding your questions, experiences and concerns in the comments section of our blog posts!
