A majority of my clients are new to the psychic/spiritual world and they ask me, "How do I become more spiritual or start a spiritual routine?" There is a perception we seem to have that it is all or nothing when it comes to being "spiritual". We think we have to give up our normal lives, meditate on the top of a mountain for hours and or learn to make our minds go blank in order to be "spiritual". That is so not so!
First is to accept that you are a divine immortal being. You do not need to become "spiritual" because you are spirit! The only thing blocking you from this awareness is your ego and there are ways around that. Your ego thinks it's in charge, but it is really the negative Nelly of your reality. So to access your spirit and over ride your ego, create some simple rituals to remind yourself on a daily basis that you are spirit. Tapping into your immortal spirit will take you so much further than your ego ever could have imagined. These simple rituals will send a signal to your ego to chill out and allow your spirit to lead the way.
One easy and quick ritual I recommend as a spiritual routine is to light a candle or incense. Take a moment each day to set an intention (peace, love, abundance, health, joy, etc.) and light the candle or incense for your spirit and intention. Know the burning flame and smoke is carrying your intention to the universe and the glow of the candle or incense is symbolic for the spirit inside of you. I do this each morning. Often it is between making coffee and making my bed. It is not fancy, time consuming or complicated, but when my ego starts in and is critical or complaining this simple routine over rides it. As I see the flame of the candle or breathe in the scent of the incense it, reminds me to let my spirit to step forward. All the issues my ego was whining about start to fall away and infinite possibilities of spirit open up.
Another quick and easy spiritual ritual you can do is to pull an Oracle Card each day. I use Oracle Cards on a regular basis. I find them extremely valuable, especially when my ego is in the way. The message on the card is something I can focus on and think about as I go about my day. It really helps me see life from the perspective of spirit, which is much wiser point of view. Today's Goddess Card was "Quite Time". Something I needed to hear, because my ego is never satisfied. Do more, work harder, it's not enough! If it was up to my ego I would never stop, but my spirit knows I deserve some quiet time.
Be aware of the things you love and are already doing that spark your spirit. These things are part of your spiritual routine and you may just not realize it. Things that feed our spirit are nature, animals, flowers, music, dancing, and singing. It's the things you naturally love where you lose yourself for a moment, detach from worldly stressors and open up to a more loving, open and expansive point of reality. So if you love doing one of the things I mention, do more of it. It is naturally feeding your spirit.
Notice the spiritual rituals I am mentioning are not exactly complicated or time consuming. Who has the time for that? Not the modern day woman especially as we are approaching the holiday season. It doesn't need to be difficult or complicated to connect with our spirit because we are spirit! It is just a matter of taking a few minutes each day to remember that.
Give thanks to your beautiful spirit this Thanksgiving. You truly are a divine being!
