A Psychic Perspective  by,  MaryKay Winterstein

I know its January, the start of a New Year, but I took a season's class and I haven't seen our yearly cycle the same since.  I no longer drive myself according to our man made calendar.  For me, January isn't necessarily about starting new things. Mother Nature blossoms in the spring and the Astrology calendar starts in March, so why can't I?

The season's class taught me that because we are in a body; we are connected to the earth.  That makes us, like nature, seasonal beings and to be in proper balance we should flow with Mother Nature.  Right now, she is in the winter season.  For us this time should be about stillness and staying warm. We should be resting and hibernating like her.  This time is necessary and nurturing to our physical bodies.  Notice how you crave yummy hot beverages and soups this time of year.  Mother Nature  provides us with the right spices, herbs and vegetables we need for warming and comforting our bodies during the winter.  Peppermint is popular in the winter, which just happens to be good for colds and flu. Mother Nature also provides the vitamin C our bodies need right now to boost our immune system.  The orange and mandarin stands are bountiful around here this time of year.

Before long, we'll be in the summer season and crave cucumbers, watermelon and spinach. All things we need to cool and alkaline our bodies during the hot summer season.

So it is exciting to begin a new calendar year and close out a decade.  That is certainly worth celebrating.  Just remember to honor your season and follow what Mother Nature is doing because she is a wise teacher.

Happy 2011!!
