Making Great Choices
Red LadderDo your choices earn your highest self respect? 

As you know, our goal is provide tools to create respectful work environments.  Each of us make choices all day long and each choice impacts our self respect positively or negatively.
  
Zig Ziglar says "Every choice you make has an end result."

Here's an acronym that I use to ensure my choices are leading to higher self respect.

C  -  Celebrate
H  -  Helpful 
O  -  Options
I   -  Inspire
C  -  Courageous
E  -  Ethical

Will this choice I am about to make stretch me to grow or learn something new or make me want to "throw a party" and celebrate?  How will this choice be helpful or beneficial?  Have I considered all the options available or do I need to keep looking for more and better alternatives?   Am I inspired and excited by my choice and can't wait to "get going"?  Will this choice require courage and put me in new situations rather than staying in the same familiar rooms?  And, of course, there is no right way to do a wrong thing!

Take regular inventory of your choices and make sure they are helping you climb the ladder to higher self respect.

When I was considering returning to college 35 years ago, a friend of mine suggested I ask myself these 4 questions.   
 
Why?
Why not?
Why not me?
Why not me now?

They proved to be very helpful and hope they will for you as well.   P.S.  I did return to college and received my degree in Social Work...a choice I've never regretted!
