| What Causes Atherosclerosis? |

 Atherosclerosis is the gradual buildup of plaque in the arteries causing the arterial walls to thicken and harden leading to heart disease and stroke.
One concept now rapidly evolving is that atherosclerosis is the result of a spectrum of changes starting with free radical damage to the mitochondria of endothelial cells. The endothelium is the inner lining of blood vessels. Read the full article here:What Causes Atherosclerosis?
