Fresh from being named the winner of the prestigious Celtic Radio Music Award in the Roots Traditional Category, international Celtic Roots sensation MacTalla Mor Band will perform a special Mother's Day Matinee at the Towne Crier Café in Pawling New York at 2 p.m. on May 10, (www.townecrier.com). A portion of the proceeds will benefit Green Chimneys, (www.greenchimneys.org).
As always this family band will be joined on stage by their mother and founding band member Patty Devlin Ofgang on the Bodhran, (Irish frame drum). In addition to Patty, the band features champion Great Highland Bagpipes and award winning Gaelic singing in a dynamic mix of Celtic, rock, reggae, blues, jazz, and hip hop.
The band tours throughout North America and can be heard on major radio stations including WFUV and WBAI Pacifica radio. The band has just returned from an appearance at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood Florida and will be featured at Pete Seeger's 90th birthday celebration at the Clearwater Festival in June.
The Mother's Day event is sure to get your hands clapping and feet moving and will leave you with a Mother's Day memory you'll never forget!
