This Week: #4: Always Do Your Best

This agreement from don Miguel Ruiz can breakour biggest agreement of all-- the one that says we are not good enough, we need to get it right, be good enough, meet expectations, and please other people on order to be worthy of love, acceptance, respect, safety, and ultimately, survival. 

This new agreement is not for your inner judge to use to tell you that your aren't doing or being enough. Keeping this new agreement says "I am always doing my best." There is nothing to judge, because you can never make mistakes, you can never fail...those words only live in the dream of the judge, not anywhere else in the universe. Animals and trees and galaxies don't fail. Birds and dolphins don't make mistakes. They simply do their best to be what they are.

It is the same with you and me. We are always doing our best to be the unique expression of the divine force that created us. We are no different from the eagles and earthworms.

This will be a lively discussion, because most of us are deeply programmed to know we are not enough, and to be afraid of making mistakes, failing, and being rejected for it. Keeping this agreement, "I am always doing my best" is the immediate way to break the power of the inner judge -- and thus to become impeccable with our word (#1).
