Angel of Life"
Wow, we are gearing up for a busy summer season here at Joydancer.
I will be traveling to exotic destinations like Cotati CA (15 minutes away), the Edgar Cayce conference in Virginia Beach VA, the Czech Republic, Salt Spring Island BC, Oakland CA (see below), Sacramento CA, Teotihuacan pyramids, Mexico, and offering many radio interviews and other appearances. Plus we are planning the most powerful Summer Celebration of Life ever! (August 13~15, northern CA).
I hope you will join me somewhere along the way.
It's a good year to claim our right to be who we are!

Speaking of Life, while writing this today I have been keeping one eye on a baby eagle tyke in a nest high up in a tree on Hornby Island, BC.
You can tune into the video cam here. I keep telling him to "Stay away from the edge!!" Right now Mom is tearing pieces off a fish and feeding the hungry little tyke eagle. May we all be as clear and powerful as these eagles-- Warriors of the Spirit.
"The Angel of Death/Angel of Life"
The Angel of Death is one of the most powerful guides in the Toltec tradition. It is said she tags along over your left shoulder. She gives you everything you have in your life-- your home, body, mind, vehicle, job, iPhone, wardrobe, money, mate, pets, your youth, and ultimately, your life itself. She offers these things freely and with love.
When the Angel is ready, she takes back her gifts. She does not bargain about it, you cannot plead your case for hanging on to them one moment longer than her decision to bring an end to her loan. All decisions are final.
To try to hold on and fight the Angel comes from a fear-based belief that you can control the outcomes of your stuff, your relationships, and your life. My teacher, Miguel Ruiz, pointed out that if it weren't for the Angel of Death in our lives, we would come home to find every car we ever owned parked in front of our house, and every relationship of the past waiting in the living room! Not good.
Embracing the Angel of Death as a guide means letting go of the illusion you control outcomes in your life. Think about it. Do you really control anything? Did you control the last time you fell in/out of love? Or lost/found your keys? Can you control the loss of your youth? And will you control the time when the Angel takes back the life she loaned you?
Fighting the Angel by hiding or hoarding your possessions, worrying about your money, trying to hold on to a fading relationship, or denying your aging is a fearful relationship with her gifts. When we are attached to her gifts we live in fear of losing them. And we will lose them! So the fear does nothing but keep us out of the moment, and away from the present-- the very place, and the only place, where love and life really exist to be lived.
When we surrender to the Angel of Death, when we are grateful for the loan instead of fearful of the loss. . .she becomes the Angel of Life. When we receive the Angel's gifts with gratitude we are IN love. When the Angel takes back her gifts, and we feel our gratitude for
the loan, we are IN love. You cannot feel fear when you are in gratitude. You can only feel love. Feeling love brings you present IN life. The result is happiness and peace; a happiness that no event, loss, or person can take away.
Imagine living in this gratitude until your final days, when you know you are passing from this life, and you see the Angel of Life at your bedside-- you smile up at her and whisper "Thank you!"
That is a life well lived by the Joydancer Toltec Spiritual Warrior.
