My Weekly Word
"Living Passionately
Without Attachment to the Outcome"

To live passionately you must release your attachment to the illusion that you have the ability to control the outcomes of your life. You really and truly have no control. One day in the supermarket I saw a Dad pushing his two kids in a special shopping basket that had a seat and steering wheel in the front. His young son was turning the wheel one way and the other, and occasionally making motor sounds to enhance his experience. In the meantime, his father was concentrating on his shopping list, and turning down aisles based on his need to find everything on the list.
Did the boy know he wasn't actually controlling the turns of the cart with his steering wheel? I don't know. He seemed to think he was driving. Do you think you are steering the course of your life? Have you noticed that your life might not be what you intended or wished it would be? What happened to your steering, directing, choosing, intending, The Secret-ing, wishing, praying, bargaining, and demanding? Is it possible that you are not actually the one in charge???
I offer you the possibility that you are not, and never have been, in charge of the direction of your life, and you have accepted the illusion of control, just like the young lad in the front of the shopping cart, turning his little wheel this way and that-- having too much fun to notice or care that the cart was not going where he was steering. Are you willing to let it go?
If you surrender your illusion of control, you have the opportunity to live passionately in your life. How else can you be present in each glorious moment that Life offers you? If you are focused on control, on the fear of outcomes you label as "bad" or "not good" you cannot be present in each amazing moment of Life.
My talk here is worth watching if you are ready to surrender, and put your faith in Life to guide you. Are you ready? You are only giving up your belief in an illusion! Why not? Go for it!! Live life from your most subtle truth, from that nudge from Life itself, as it manifests itself as You, the one and only You, here and now!
