"Tomato Queen" Sarah Hoyer
|
This Pleasant Hill tradition is always the Saturday before Mother's Day and is a favorite place for Dads and children to select just the right gift for Moms.
Choose from decorative pots of blooming flowers, succulent arrangements, a large perennial section featuring unusual varieties (including many that are California natives or drought tolerant), in addition to trees, shrubs, and vines. Heirloom tomatoes are a plant sale favorite and Sara Hoyer (known to PHGSC members as the "Tomato Queen") pictured above, has more than a dozen varieties! She spends months nurturing unusual varieties from seeds. Other vegetables and herbs round out the edible plant section.
This year the PHGSC will feature vintage outdoor décor items from a large estate in the "garden shed" area.
Competitive prices and expert advice from Master Gardeners have made the sale a popular destination for years! Don't miss it!
