This is typically the time of year when politicians begin to tell you everything they think you want to hear so they can get your vote. Well, I believe that it's time we speak the honest true regarding the state of our state and our country.
You and I can't afford more political double talk and empty promises. The truth is that Texas is facing many financial challenges right now. Looking forward we must be willing to make bold, new decisions regarding our spending. It's time for Texas to cut the billions of dollars in waste that is embedded in every bureaucracy of our state government. It's time to rethink how Texas government works. It's time for Lean Six Sigma in Texas. That is why I am running for re-election as your State Representative.
Like you, I've had enough. Millions of other Americans are now ready to take this country back and we must be ready to ensure that Texas does not go down the same road as the states of California, Nevada, and Illinois all of which are facing potential financial disaster.

I'm proud of what we were able to accomplish this past session. Yet, there is much more work to be done. Already, Team Torres is working on new and bold ideas to improve state government and make it more responsive to you.
One of our ideas includes an economic plan. I believe our proposed plan will act as a powerful magnet and supercharge our Texas economy and create thousands of new jobs. I call it our The Prioritize, Stabilize, and Incentivize Economic Plan for Texas. I believe that you expect more from your elected leaders and I'm working to deliver for you.
Serious financial challenges are facing Texas. The mounting cost of Medicaid and pensions, eroding infrastructure and growing debt service costs and the additional $8.8 billion for Obama Care if we are forced to implement it in Texas are just some of the many serious financial challenges our state faces.
Liberal legislators are ready to raise your taxes. In Austin they have already started talking about, "new revenues." But this is nothing more than a fancy way of saying, "tax increase." In the end, it means bigger government and more spending on more programs, wasting billions more of your tax dollars! We don't need a tax increase. What Texas needs is less waste and fraud and more efficiency. Texas needs to implement Lean Six Sigma and begin to realize the estimated $10-$15 billion in savings each year.
