A PERSONAL MESSAGE FROM SAM
|
It's time to tee it up in Central Florida! Hope everyone is having a great spring as our community welcomes the stars of the PGA Tour. The Arnold Palmer Invitational is today-Sunday at Bay Hill. The weather looks great for the King's event, especially on the weekend. Tickets are still available---just click here. Phil Mickelson, Ernie Els and Steve Stricker are all there. Remember, when you buy API tickets, you're also supporting its two great charities: the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and the Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies.
On the women's side, some of the future stars of the LPGA Tour are headed to Daytona Beach April 9-11. The Duramed FUTURES Tour makes its annual stop in Volusia County at the Daytona Beach Invitational at LPGA International.
How is your March Madness bracket? Busted yet? Congrats to the men's hoops teams at both Rollins and Embry-Riddle. The Tars made Division II's South Regionals and finished the season with a school-record tying 27 wins. The Eagles soared into the NAIA National Quarterfinals before bowing out after a 30-win season.
In this Community Newsletter, we'll update you on several Sports Commission events in Central Florida. They range from softball to soccer to gymnastics. Have a great April! |

 | He's Doc's son, but Austin Rivers has made a name for himself in the world of high school hoops. The Winter Park High School junior is one of the top prep players in the nation. Earlier this month, Austin led the Wildcats to the state championship and was named the Florida Dairy Farmer's 6A Player of the Year.
