A PERSONAL MESSAGE FROM SAM

Video of Sam's MessageA new decade and a new look for the Central Florida Sports Commission! 2009 shaped up to be a great year for the Central Florida Sports Commission and Seminole County, and the 2010 calendar is looking stronger than ever! The CFSC's new website will be online shortly along with our new logo

Not only has the Sports Commission added a new website and new logo, but new events as well!  The CFSC and Seminole county will once again be hosting events such as NCAA DII Men's and Women's Tennis Championships, FHSAA Tennis State Finals and USA Rugby College Playoffs.  Along with these returning events, the CFSC will host new events such as the 2010 US Club Soccer Florida Cup, which will attract 80-90 soccer teams from across the State of Florida.

As we look ahead, the Sports Commission expects our ever expanding relationship with Seminole County to only get stronger.  Our partnership has already begun to pay dividends throughout the events taking place in Seminole, where event organizers know that even before they arrive that they have entire team of sporting event experts working on their behalf.  We believe "Team Seminole" has provided Seminole County that unique edge that raises us above all others!

All of us here at the Sports Commission are excited about this New Year, and are looking forward to working with you throughout 2010!
Best Regards,
Sam Stark

IN THE PIPELINE
On the business development front, the Sports Commission is diligently researching and reviewing multiple event related opportunities for venues within Seminole County.  Event leads currently looked into by the Sports Commission include two (2) new lacrosse events, along with several NCAA Championships.

Finally, the CFSC and Seminole CVB attended the 2009 Independent Softball Association National Conference where we had the opportunity to bid on several national, regional and statewide events, along with the National Conference in 2011 and 2012.  We hope to confirm which events were awarded for Seminole County in our next report.

Unfortunately, the organizers decided to choose another destination for the conference in 2011, while a decision for the 2012 conference is still pending. Stay tuned.
