Japan Earthquake and Tsunami

Update & Emergency Contact Information

Greetings!

This morning we wake to news of a magnitude 8.9 earthquake this afternoon in Japan and subsequent major tsunami which has flooded Sendai Airport in Miyagi Prefecture.  Miyagi Prefecture has a long-standing relationship with the State of Delaware as a Sister State.

We have been contacted by our colleagues in Miyagi who assure us that they (the government staff) are alright.  We are of course very relieved to hear this and will continue to inform you of updates.  This was the largest earthquake to hit Japan in recorded history.

Our thoughts are with our friends in Miyagi Prefecture and throughout Japan as they work through this situation.
