Issues Impacting Global Business
November-December 2009 Issue
As the deepest and longest recession since the Great
Depression recedes, it's becoming increasingly important to establish
global competitive advantages through greater economic integration with other
nations. Together, Canada
and the United States
can and should seize the moment-but various issues stand in the way
(p1-2).
China's
GDP is accelerating-and it's not due to its export business. China's
increasing domestic demand appears to be sustainable and a major contributor to
growth (p3-5).
Misinformation continues to distort facts about international trade and related
issues. For example, prior to the recession, the American manufacturing sector
was growing stronger-not weaker (p6-7).
