    LAST WEEK'S TRIVIA QUESTION

This 8,600-ton transatlantic passenger steamship became famous for rescuing the survivors of Titanic after she hit an iceberg and sank on April 15,1912.

    A) Queen Elizabeth                                C) United States
    B) Belfast                                              D) Carpathia

    Answer: D) Carpathia

Carpathia was a Cunard Line Transatlantic passenger steamship built by Swan Hunter & Wigham Richardson.  During the time of the Titanic disaster it was sailing from New York and caught the signals from the passenger liner.  Carpathia herself was sunk in the Atlantic on July 17, 1918 during the First World War by a German U-boat.
