LIVE PIRACY REPORT / MAP

Commonwealth Business Media, Inc., a subsidiary of United Business Media Limited, is the leading information provider to the global trade and transportation market with comprehensive proprietary data, news and analytical content. Its leading brands include The Journal of Commerce, PIERS Global Intelligence Solutions, BACK Aviation Solutions, Air Cargo World, Traffic World, OAG and Aviation Industry Group, a number of directory databases covering the international trade, railroad and trucking markets. The Company also produces more than 30 conferences serving the international trade, aviation and maritime markets.

On October 14, 2008 The Journal of Commerce launched JOCsailings.com, offering the most current and comprehensive North American shipping schedules available online.  In their recent newsletter Harry G. Butler, Editor of JOCsailings, responded to the increasing piracy attacks against sea vessels.

"The attack on the Maersk Alabama last week (now happily resolved with the rescue of the captain) may have dramatically increased the profile of Somali piracy among the general media and U.S. public, but members of the transportation and trade industry already knew the prevalence of such attacks, not only off the coast of Somalia, but off Nigeria, in the Straits of Malacca, and elsewhere around the world. The International Chamber of Commerce's Piracy Reporting Centre tracks incidents of piracy based on reports from shipmasters; among the useful resources the center makes available online are the Live Piracy Report and the Live Piracy Map." (April 13, 2009)

Live piracy reports and maps can also be accessed on the WTC Delaware Website
