Gary Morris Celebrity Golf Tournament |
The 3rd Annual Gary Morris Celebrity Golf Tournament benefiting TAPS (Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors) kicked off last night in Aurora, Colorado. The event got a great start with it's Songwriters Show with some of the best songwriters from Nashville, Rob Crosby, Brett Jones, Billy Montana and Greg Barnhill, with special appearances by Jimmie Rodgers, Terry Cashman and Gary Mule Deer. This was held in an intimate setting as they sang their songs and spun their tales about how they came to write their hits for such stars as Garth Brooks, Kenny Chesney, Reba McEntire, Toby Keith, Tim McGraw, Sara Evens, Montgomery Gentry, Martina McBride, Jo Dee Messina, Amy Grant and many others.
Gary performed both Wind Beneath My Wings and Amazing Grace. He auctioned off the very first I Believe CD released which brought in $2,000 for TAPS. Thanks to Pete Coors for purchasing this and donating to such a tremendous cause. It was a fabulous night.
Today will be a fun-filled day out on the golf course and then everyone will head over to this evening to the "Broadway to Country" concert, dinner and auction. Gary will be headlining tonights performance. ~ |
