2007 Bergstrom Winery Pinot Noir Bergstrom Vineyard

92 points Robert Parker

Special Offer 39.99     Sale Price 49.99     Regular Price 59.99

The 2007 Pinot Noir Bergstrom Vineyard is sourced from a biodynamically farmed estate parcel, another step toward Bergstrom's goal of being totally biodynamic. He states that the vineyard yields a "ferrous mineral quality". Dark crimson-colored, it displays a lovely perfume of toast, mineral, spice box, black cherry, and black raspberry. Elegant on the palate, it has layers of savory fruit, light tannin, succulent flavors, and impeccable balance. This lengthy effort will benefit from another 2-3 years of bottle age and perform optimally from 2011 to 2020.

2010 Domaine Grand Veneur Cotes du Rhone Reserve
91 pts Wine Advocate
Sale Price 12.99                 Regular Price 14.99
The 2010 Grand Veneur Cotes du Rhone Reserve (70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Cinsault) displays loads of ripe flavors. It is very concentrated for a Cotes du Rhone, and is actually an amazing wine. Classic garrigue, black cherry liqueur, lavender, licorice and spice box are all present in this full-bodied, intense, and rich Cotes du Rhone that sells for a song. This is a sensational effort to drink over the next 4-5 years, although it might last even longer."

2009 Bodegas Borsao Tres Picos
92 Points Robert Parker
Sale Price $14.99          Regular Price $17.99
The 2009 Tres Picos is a worthy successor to the string of splendid vintages which have preceded it. Heady black cherry and blackberry aromas, Asian spices, incense, and mineral notes lead to a dense, layered, rich old-vine Garnacha that over-delivers in a big way. A tasting of every vintage of Tres Picos ever produced (back to 2001) at the Bodega in January 2011 indicates that 8-10 years of pleasurable drinking is a reasonable expectation. However, this is a wine that is ready to drink on release.

Bodegas Volver 2009
92 Points Robert Parker
Sale Price 13.99                 Regular Price 16.99
Saturated ruby. Strikingly aromatic nose offers a pungent array of fruit, floral and herbal scents. Sweet cherry-vanilla and cola flavors coat the palate and are enlivened by juicy acidity. Supple tannins gain strength on the finish, which strongly repeats the cola and floral qualities.

CAVE DE ROQUEBRUN Coteaux du Languedoc Chemin des Olivettes 2009
92 Points Wine Spectator
Sale Price 11.99 Regular Price 14.99
Shows meaty touches midpalate, with a broad, muscular finish of mocha and dark chocolate. Drink now through 2015. Tasted twice, with consistent notes.

2009 Falesco Merlot
92 Points Robert Parker
Sale Price 14.99          Regular Price 16.99
The 2009 Merlot is one of the finest wines I have ever tasted from Falesco. It is a decidedly firm, vibrant Merlot that stands in stark contrast to the super-ripe, obvious Vitiano Rosso. Here the fruit is wonderfully precise and elegant. Jammy blueberries, blackberries, cinnamon, leather and crushed rocks are woven into a beautiful fabric. The French oak is layered very nicely, adding depth and flavor, but never overpowering the wine. This is impressive juice from proprietor Riccardo Cotarella. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2017.

2007 Mount Eden Estate Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon

98 points and one of Wine & Spirits 100 Best Wines of 2011

Sale Price 59.99 Regular Price 65.99

"Open every stop on your Cabernet church organ: Pure cassis. Mountain freshness. Baking spice. The pencil lead of Graves in that less-than-overripe varietal character. This is unadulterated Cabernet pleasure, three words that have never come together in my mind before. Grown at an elevation of 1,800 feet, 14 miles from the coast, this vineyard traces its heritage back to Chateau Margaux, where Emmet Rixford selected cuttings for La Questa in the 1890s. Martin Ray propagated cuttings from these vines to plant Mount Eden in the 1940s, replanted in the 1980s with a selection from Ray's vines. Between the cool site, the exceptional vintage and the pedigree of the vines, this is atrue California classic."

2009 Caymus Napa

91 Points The Wine Spectator

Shafer Chardonnay Red Shoulder Ranch 2009

96 points Wine Enthusiast

The 2009 offers lush, luxurious aromas and flavors of melon, honeysuckle, apricot, pineapple and flint all held together with bright acidity, good structure and elegant balance.

2009 Ridge Estate Chardonnay

95 Points Robert Parker

Sale Price 39.99      Regular Price 44.99

"The 2009 Chardonnay Estate is an impeccable, classy wine layered with bright citrus, flowers and just a touch of sweetness from the oak. Crushed rocks and lime peel add complexity on the textured, long finish. In 2009 none of the blocks were designated for the Monte Bello bottling, all of the fruit went into the Estate. This is a stunningly pure wine from Ridge. I came back to the 2009 Estate after having tasted all of the reds and the wine showed beautifully. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2019. "

Kistler Les Noisetiers Chardonnay 2009
Very Limited, you must call to confirm
Cost 64.99
Complex aromas of citrus and flakey pastry. Elegant and impressive with layers of honeysuckle macadamia nuts and beautifully integrated French oak. The memorable finish is precise and intense with uncommon balance that inspires now but portends for an even finer experience in 2 - 3 years, peaking around 2015 in our estimate.

2008 Gorman "The Pixie" Red Mountain Syrah

93 points Wine Spectator

Sale Price 39.99      Regular Price 44.99

Rich and vibrant, this is polished in texture so the red cherry, black cherry, licorice and black olive flavors sail smoothly through the long, expressive finish. This has elegance to go with its power, and the finish doesn't quit.

2010 Patricia Green Ana Vineyard

Sale Price $39.99               Regular Price $44.99

There simply is no replacing well-farmed, older vines in terms of the quality of the wine you are able to make from the fruit. The nuances, texture and complexity that these older vines provide are not qualities that a winemaker can imitate via technique. You either have older vines or you don't. With Ana Vineyard these qualities make for an incredible array of aromatics including rose petal, freshly cooked rare lamb and earth-toned red spices. The texture of this bottling is always graceful. At once it is mouth-filling but never a "big" wine however it never lacks for density and Ana does particularly well in cooler vintages. In 2010 where most things moved toward red fruit and spice our bottling of Ana Vineyard has some guts to go along with its inherently refined and silky characteristics. There is no mistaking the wealth of intensity in this wine but it is red-fruited to the core and lithe and nimble at the same time. This is going to be a classic bottling of Ana Vineyard. 220 cases bottled.

2007 Gramercy Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon

94 Points Robert Parker

Sale Price $39.99               Regular Price $44.99

The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon was sourced from three vineyards. and aged for 22 month in 40% new French oak. Purple/black in color, it is a layered, Rubenesque offering with loads of succulent fruit, incipient complexity, enough underlying structure to evolve for 3-5 years, and a lengthy, fruit-filled finish. Its drinking window will extend from 2013 to 2027.
