Bridges to Housing Stability is requesting $980 - Can You Help?
Bridges to Housing Stability is seeking immediate assistance of $980 to help a breast patient cancer keep her housing.
She is 29 years old, pregnant, and was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Due to doctor's appointments and tests, she has used up all of her paid leave from work. She has had to use unpaid leave here and there for the last couple pay periods, causing a financial strain on her already tight budget. Doctors have recommended a mastectomy, which would cause her to be out of work for a month. The first week will be unpaid, and the remaining weeks, she will receive only a portion of her pay through short-term disability. They are requesting this assistance for her, so she will not have to worry about losing her housing while in recovery from her invasive surgery.
