| Dear WGC Donors and Friends,
In its tenth year, The Women's Giving Circle of Howard County (WGC) celebrates the significant short and long-term impact our dollars have made on the lives of women and girls in Howard County.
We CELEBRATE:
- The many grants we have given to Howard County organizations
- The teen age girls we have sent to our Journey Camp
- The scholarships we have provided to women through Howard Community College
- The STEM and Mean Girls programs we have coordinated
- The women and children who have been helped through the Response Network
- The establishment of the Young Women's Giving Circle, intended to encourage and develop new philanthropists who will commit to life-long giving, and
- The multi-generational Circle Team members, role models for physical and philanthropic development.
While we are proud of the impact we have made, we can do so much more.
Our Howard County community is one of the wealthiest counties in the country and to that end, it is our responsibility to ensure that every girl feels empowered to reach her potential by encouraging healthy development and personal authority. We must also help women achieve economic self-sufficiency.
Your contribution will enable us to:
- Increase our grants to county nonprofits
- Increase our scholarships that further the education of and open up job opportunities to women
- Continue to send girls to the Journey camp, and
- Engage in new partnerships directing our efforts to making women and girls in Howard County feel stronger, healthier, and safer.
If you are not currently part of the Circle, I hope you will join. For those of you who have been supporters, please join us as we "Celebrate the Circle" and continue your commitment to our current and future programs by donating to the Women's Giving Circle.
Current and future generations of girls and women are counting on us.
Sincerely,
Cynthia Taliano, Chair
