This year the girls honored six local professional and civic leaders and philanthropists at an awards brunch. Honorees included Virginia Bates, Sharon Bedke, Yolanda Bruno, Doris Hillian Ligon, Phyllis Madachy, and Beverly White-Seals.

The women were presented individually designed awards to recognize each honoree's special attributes and accomplishments.  The 2010 campers developed the awards program as part of an intensive camp experience that included a confidence course, as well as workshops on self-awareness and decision making and other topics.   Thirty-three girls attended the Journey summer camp in 2010. Over 180 girls have completed the camp since its start in 2006. The signature program was founded and is financially supported by contributions from 850 donors to WGC.

Young Women's Giving Circle of Howard County
The first-ever YWGC had its kick-off meeting on 9/26 where they discussed their goals and mission.  These young women are learning how to raise money so that they are able to give it to nonprofit groups they choose. We can't wait to get more updates from the YWGC!
WGC's Response Network
The Response Network is consistantly helping to address the specific needs of women clients identified by selected nonprofit agencies.

The Response Network has raised well over $4,200 in 2010 and over $25,000 between 2003 and 2009.
Be on the look out for the next request and be a part of helping women in need.
