A Woman Needs Our Help! $1000
Grassroots is seeking immediate help for a woman trying to support an intact family of four through a challenging economy. She's worked at a local beauty salon for a rock solid 23 years, while her husband has been in and out of work. Their grown daughter had a baby, but couldn't take care of him due to her mental illness, and they had to take over caring for an infant (now two years old) along with their 13 year-old daughter. Then, in 2008, her husband again lost his job. It took him 20 months to find a new one; but, by that time they were two months behind on rent. Thanks to the new job, the family is over-income for eviction prevention assistance through local agencies. The family has been taken to court and needs $1,400 to prevent the eviction, which will come some time mid-May. With $1,000, they can scrape together the remainder, squeeze through May, and be stable again by June. But without aid, this family of four may be homeless in just a few weeks. This woman has worked very hard to keep her family housed and stable. It would be tragic for this family to lose their housing.
If you can help this woman, please email Kim Flyr: kflyr@verizon.net
Thank you for your consideration!
