A Woman Needs Our Help! $470
The Domestic Violence Center is seeking immediate help for a 23 year old mother of two young children who is struggling to support her family. She is receiving child support from one of her children's fathers and has filed a complaint against the other father for non-payment. Our money will pay for her to enroll in the Certified Nursing Assistant program. She is currently making $8.00 an hour, but schooling would allow her to make $14 an hour. She is working with the Career Links Program at HCC, a program that helps single female heads of households to reach their career goals. DVC believes that, "Her goals are realistic and well thought out. She needs to take some initial steps first in order to gain the training she needs to support her family and then she will be in a financial position to continue on in an RN program."
