A monthly overview of WGC news and information
February 2009
Dear WGC Donors & Friends,

The WGC's Response Network was created to respond to the desire by many women in our community to directly help women in need and we are proud of the role that the network has played through the years.

Since 2003, our network of donors have given over $20,000 to assist over 30 women and their families in our community.

Even despite the challenging economy, women in our county continue to unite to help others.  This testimony to the power of women giving collectively comes from a local donor who gave through the Response Network's most recent appeal:

"Thank you for this opportunity to help another woman in our community.  Your response network e-mails are just amazing.  You can't change the whole world, but you can change a little piece of it right in your own backyard."

The success of the WGC's Response Network is spreading not only throughout our local community but also to other women's circles and funds throughout the county.  We recently received this comment from the Vice Chairwoman of the Women's Fund of Winston-Salem:

"I am a member of the Board of Directors of The Women's Fund of Winston-Salem.  I'm on your email list and receive e-communication from you.  I am always amazed when you send out these emergency requests at how quickly you are able to generate the dollars needed.  HOW DO YOU DO IT? What can we learn from you all about the success of your Response Network and how we might consider it for our Fund?"

Time and time again, the WGC's Response Network is able to communicate the needs of local women and girls to donors and friends of the WGC and successfully generate the funds needed to solve an urgent need.

Thank you for your continued compassion and generosity!
