Dear WGC Donors & Friends,

A Woman Needs Our Help - $850

A woman with four children in our community is in need of $850.00 to avoid an eviction from her apartment next Tuesday.

This woman's husband left her one year ago with no money. Since then she has supported herself and her four children on disability income for three of the children, and food stamps and Temporary Cash Assistance from DSS. The children are ages 15, 9, 8 and 5. The two youngest children have a diagnosis of autism. This woman got behind in her rent because her food stamp renewal was delayed and she had to use rent money for food. Apparently, the documentation that she needed from the children's physician was not forthcoming and she has since learned that many physicians are overwhelmed by these applications and they have a hard time getting them completed in a timely manner.  She does not work for pay, but she volunteers in her children's school tutoring children with dyslexia.

This woman's food stamps are now reinstated and she will be able to pay her rent again if this eviction can be stopped. If we can collectively donate $850.00 through The Response Network, this woman will be able to keep her home.

Please email Kim Flyr if you can donate to assist this woman in need: kflyr@comcast.net
