This past month was hallmarked by a first for me...meeting the First Lady Michelle Obama! I was asked to serve as the master of ceremonies for an event in Ft. Carson, Colorado for supporting military families. As a member of the board of the National Math and Science Initiative (NMSI), we launched the "Initiative for Military Families" this year to make sure more young Americans have the skills to succeed in college and in life. It was a special honor to meet with our First Lady, Michelle Obama, and Dr. Jill Biden, who are doing so much to support education improvements. The Harris Foundation continues to be recognized as one of the leading organizations for STEM education.
