Greetings!
Seven hundred and twenty four (724) spay/neuter surgeries were performed at our clinic in the month of February. That was our most productive month ever. In addition to our Monday through Thursday surgery schedule, we added 3 Sunday clinics.
Our Beat the Heat promotion was sponsored by PetSmart Charities. We were able to offer $20 cat spays in the month of February. We received a grant in the amount of $5,100 to subsidize 255 cat spay surgeries. Also in that grant award was $1,000 to be used for advertising and promotion. We used funds for radio advertising, newspaper ads, flyers, posters & postcards. The response was overwhelming and the promotion a huge success. Our February schedule was full in just a week and a half. But the phones kept ringing and ringing. Thanks to a generous donation of $2000 we were able to extend the Beat the Heat special into March.
We not only met our goal but exceeded it by spaying 290 cats in the month of February. In addition we spayed 103 dogs, neutered 118 dogs, and neutered 213 cats.
We have prevented the births of thousands of unwanted kittens
this year alone because of this effort. We at SSNA truly
appreciate our clients who understand the importance of
spay/neuter. They round up neighborhood cats, trap feral cats, and help neighbors and friends with transportation and get those cats to our clinic so that the cycle of reproduction will end -- saving lives through prevention.
