Chisholm Trail Parkway is a 27.6-mile toll road that will extend from Tarrant County to Johnson County, starting from Fort Worth's central business district at Interstate 30 and continuing to U.S. 67 in Cleburne. The NTTA began initial construction in April 2010 on Section 2C, one of the northernmost sections of the project, located in Fort Worth near Union Pacific Railroad's Davidson Yard. In March 2010, the Texas Department of Transportation began construction of Section 3A, a $117 million American Recovery and Reinvestment Act project. Section 3A consists of local access improvements to Interstate 20/State Highway 183 (Southwest Boulevard) at CTP. Construction of the remaining project sections is underway. The entire CTP project is anticipated to open to traffic in spring 2014.

Bridge work in south Fort Worth

Crews working in south Fort Worth placed the final column for the Chisholm Trail Parkway bridges over the Fort Worth and Western Railroad. The focus will now shift to placing the caps for this and the Summer Creek bridge.

Night work now occurring on FM 1902 in Johnson County

CTP construction crews in Johnson County are now performing night work in the area of County Road 915. Trucks will be crossing FM 1902 between 7:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. from Sunday nights until early Saturday mornings. FM 1902 will be closed for short intervals for crossing of equipment being used to construct the CTP. This will continue through approximately mid-November.

This work is being performed at night to have the least amount of impact to the traveling public and provide the safest opportunity for construction crews on FM 1902. Flaggers will be in place to stop traffic to allow for these movements across the road.
