Chisholm Trail Parkway is a 27.6-mile toll road that will extend from Tarrant County to Johnson County, starting from Fort Worth's central business district at Interstate 30 and continuing to U.S. 67 in Cleburne. The NTTA began initial construction in April 2010 on Section 2C, one of the northernmost sections of the project, located in Fort Worth near Union Pacific Railroad's Davidson Yard. In March 2010, the Texas Department of Transportation began construction of Section 3A, a $117 million American Recovery and Reinvestment Act project. Section 3A consists of local access improvements to Interstate 20/State Highway 183 (Southwest Boulevard) at CTP. Construction of the remaining project sections is underway. The entire CTP project is anticipated to open to traffic in spring 2014.

"Spaghetti Bowl" filling up

Spaghtetti

The Chisholm Trail Parkway/Interstate 20/State Highway 183 interchange consists of numerous bridges that will eventually become the CTP direct-connector ramps, main lanes and frontage road system. With so many bridges, the interchange is often referred to as the "Spaghetti Bowl." To make the transition from one roadway to another seamlessly, the following connections are being constructed between the three thoroughfares:

 * Eastbound I-20 to northbound CTP

* Westbound I-20 to southbound CTP

* Southbound CTP to westbound I-20

* Northbound CTP to eastbound I-20

* Arborlawn Drive to southbound CTP

* Northbound CTP to Arborlawn Drive

Texas Department of Transportation crews also have worked in this area since spring 2010, focusing on local access improvements, including the construction of a sound mitigation wall near Country Day School and the lowering of the SH 183 main lanes. As the SH 183 main lanes are lowered, the CTP is being constructed overhead, with the tallest structure standing 105 feet from ground level.

Work along Rutledge Road begins in early August

Flagger SignCrews expect to begin work along Rutledge Road on Monday, Aug. 6. As part of the plans for the CTP, Rutledge Road will become a "dead-end" street with a cul-de-sac being built just west of the future extended Montgomery Road. Construction will restrict traffic along Rutledge Road to local business and deliveries only; through traffic will be detoured to Vickery Boulevard.

Demolition of Rosedale-Lovell bridge slated for early AugustRoad Work Ahead Sign

As work continues on the CTP near I-30, the westbound Rosedale Street bridge to Lovell Street is anticipated to close in the early part of August. Part of the bridge will be demolished and rebuilt to accommodate the CTP. Once the schedule is finalized, information on detour routes will be provided.

Top Toll Violators list now live on NTTA.org

Outreach effort aimed at reaching customers who owe significant tolls

 Top Violators

The NTTA published a webpage July 11 containing the names of individuals who owe 100 or more outstanding tolls. The list is designed to provide the public with a way to easily determine if they owe a significant debt to the NTTA and put them on notice that they may be subject to collections lawsuits and other enforcement action by the NTTA.

The Top Toll Violators webpage is part of a coordinated effort by the NTTA to ensure that all users of NTTA roadways pay for that usage. The NTTA is funded by user fees--tolls--and not taxes. Those on the "Top Toll Violators" list have more than 100 outstanding tolls and have refused to pay invoices that are more than at least 180 days.

See the list and read the frequently asked questions at www.ntta.org/custinfo/BIlling-and-Payment/Pages/Top_Toll_Violators.aspx.
