Chisholm Trail Parkway is a 27.6-mile toll road that will extend from Tarrant County to Johnson County, starting from Fort Worth's central business district at Interstate 30 and continuing to U.S. 67 in Cleburne. The NTTA began initial construction in April 2010 on Section 2C, one of the northernmost sections of the project, located in Fort Worth near Union Pacific Railroad's Davidson Yard. In March 2010, the Texas Department of Transportation began construction of Section 3A, a $117 million American Recovery and Reinvestment Act project. Section 3A consists of local access improvements to Interstate 20/State Highway 183 (Southwest Boulevard) at CTP. Construction of the remaining project sections is underway. The entire CTP project is anticipated to open to traffic in mid-2014.

Fort Worth Construction Updates

Nightly closures of southbound Hulen Street scheduled for June 18-20Road Work Ahead Sign

Beginning June 18, crews will intermittently close the southbound lane of the Hulen Street bridge nightly between 9 p.m. and 9 a.m., Monday through Wednesday. Law enforcement officials will be on hand to direct traffic during the closure.

Work on I-30 necessitates additional closures

As work continues on the various bridge structures that will make up the Chisholm Trail Parkway, several nightly lane closures affecting Interstate 30 will come on line over the next few weeks. During these short-term closures, crews will complete temporary striping and install safety barriers. Drivers should note that the speed limit in the construction zone along I-30 is reduced to 55 mph. Message boards will be placed to notify drivers about the closures.

Whenever possible, closures are planned during off-peak hours. Know before you go by viewing a full listing of lane closures at NTTA.org.

I-30 closed between the Trinity River and Summit Avenue in Fort Worth for Chisholm Trail Parkway utility relocations

Utility crews will close various east- and westbound lanes of I-30 from the Trinity River to Summit Avenue Saturday, June 16, from 5-7 a.m. During the intermittent closures, crews will remove electrical lines at three different locations along I-30 between the Trinity River and Summit Avenue in Fort Worth.

Also, the following ramps will be closed periodically from 5-7 a.m. while the work is being performed:

* Eastbound I-30 University Drive entrance ramp

* Westbound I-30 frontage road at Parkview Road

* Eastbound Forest Park Boulevard entrance ramp

* Westbound Summit Avenue entrance ramp to I-30

* Westbound frontage road between Summit Avenue and Forest Park

Local law enforcement officials will be on hand to assist with traffic flow.

Eastbound I-30 exit ramp to Forest Park Boulevard closed

The eastbound exit ramp to Forest Park Boulevard will be closed nightly as follows:

* From 8 p.m. Monday, June 18, through 5 a.m. Tuesday, June 19

* From 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, through 5 a.m. Wednesday, June 20

During the closure, crews will restripe the roadway and remove overhead sign structures that will be placed on temporary sign mounts. Once installed, the re-striping will narrow the ramp and prohibit the right turn movement to southbound Forest Park Boulevard. Motorists exiting Forest Park Boulevard will only be able to turn left (northbound) onto Forest Park Boulevard. Drivers wanting to head south on Forest Park Boulevard will be directed to exit at Rosedale Street.
