Chisholm Trail Parkway is a 27.6-mile toll road that will extend from Tarrant County to Johnson County, starting from Fort Worth's central business district at Interstate 30 and continuing to U.S. 67 in Cleburne. The NTTA began initial construction in April 2010 on Section 2C, one of the northernmost sections of the project, located in Fort Worth near Union Pacific Railroad's Davidson Yard. In March 2010, the Texas Department of Transportation began construction of Section 3A, a $117 million American Recovery and Reinvestment Act project. Section 3A consists of local access improvements to Interstate 20/State Highway 183 (Southwest Boulevard) at CTP. Construction of the remaining project sections is underway. The entire CTP project is anticipated to open to traffic in mid-2014.

Overnight closure along Vickery Boulevard to occur June 7 in Fort Worth

   

Crews working near the Hulen Street bridge area are expected to close Vickery Boulevard from the Hulen Street to Vickery Boulevard connector to Micki Lynn Avenue as they prepare to pour concrete for the new Hulen Street bridge. The closure will be in effect from 11:30 p.m. Thursday, June 7, through 7 a.m. Friday, June 8. Signs will be placed to alert commuters of the closure and detour.

 

Vickery Boulevard traffic will be detoured as follows:

 

* Eastbound traffic will be detoured north onto Micki Lynn Avenue, west to Kilpatrick Avenue, north to Eldridge Street, east to Donnelly Avenue, south to Hulen Street and east to Vickery Boulevard.
 

* Westbound traffic will be detoured north to Hulen Street, west to Donnelly Avenue, south to Eldridge Street, east to Kilpatrick Avenue, south to Micki Lynn Avenue and west to Vickery Boulevard.  

Ongoing Construction

   

Lane shift at Sycamore School Road scheduled to begin Tuesday, JuneRoad Work Ahead Sign 12 

As work begins on the CTP bridge over Sycamore School Road, crews will slightly shift traffic on Sycamore School Road between Old Granbury Road and Summer Creek Drive. Construction is expected to last through late 2012.

 

Various westbound I-30 lane and shoulder closures extended to July 31

Crews will close alternate westbound Interstate 30 lanes between Summit Avenue and University Drive nightly from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. now through the morning of Tuesday, July 31. In addition to these lane closures, the Macon Street, Lancaster Avenue and Presidio Street ramps to westbound I-30 will be narrowed. The speed limit in this area is reduced to 55 mph.

 

Permanent closure of the right-turn lane from northbound University Drive to eastbound Vickery Boulevard scheduled for this week

Crews expect to close the right-turn lane from northbound University Drive to eastbound Vickery Boulevard towards the end of this week. Motorists will still be able to turn right onto eastbound Vickery Boulevard to access eastbound I-30. Drivers traveling in the area should expect delays. Signs will be placed to alert motorists of the closure.

 

Lane reduction along westbound SH 183 frontage road through spring 2013

The frontage road of westbound State Highway 183 between Hulen Street and the Insurance Lane bridge will be reduced to one lane through spring 2013. 

Upcoming informational meetings in Johnson County and Fort Worth

 

Mark your calendar for community meetings in Johnson County and the next round of Business Information Group (B.I.G.) meetings in Fort Worth.

 

Three community meetings are planned for the week of June 10 to update Johnson County residents on the southernmost section of the CTP project. An open house will occur at each meeting from 5:30-7 p.m. An informational presentation by NTTA and construction staff will begin at 6 p.m. The same presentation will be given at all three meetings.

 

The community meetings are set for the following dates and locations:

 

* June 11: City Pavilion, 104 E. Allen Ave. in Godley

* June 12: Cleburne Conference Center, 1501 W. Henderson St. in Cleburne

* June 14: Loflin Middle School Cafeteria, 6801 FM 1902 in Joshua

 

A fourth meeting will soon be scheduled in Burleson.

 

The public is invited to learn more about the construction schedule and what to expect over the coming months regarding construction in Johnson County.

Meanwhile, three Business Information Group meetings in Fort Worth have been scheduled for the third week in June. B.I.G. meetings are designed to keep area businesses up-to-date on project progress. Representatives from the City of Fort Worth and the Texas Department of Transportation also will be on hand to discuss both related and upcoming projects. All meetings will begin at 2 p.m. on the following dates and locations:

 

* June 18: I-30/Downtown Fort Worth B.I.G., Fort Worth Botanic Garden, Camellia Room, 3220 Botanic Garden Ave.

* June 19: South Fort Worth area B.I.G., Fort Worth Academy, 7301 Dutch Branch Road

* June 21: Hulen Street bridge area B.I.G., Arborlawn United Methodist Church, 5001 Briarhaven Road, Room 225
