Chisholm Trail Parkway is a 27.6-mile toll road that will extend from Tarrant County to Johnson County, starting from Fort Worth's central business district at Interstate 30 and continuing to U.S. 67 in Cleburne. The NTTA began initial construction in April 2010 on Section 2C, one of the northernmost sections of the project, located in Fort Worth near Union Pacific Railroad's Davidson Yard. In March 2010, the Texas Department of Transportation began construction of Section 3A, a $117 million American Recovery and Reinvestment Act project. Section 3A consists of local access improvements to Interstate 20/State Highway 183 (Southwest Boulevard) at CTP. Construction of the remaining project sections is underway. The entire CTP project is anticipated to open to traffic in mid-2014. _________________________________________________________
B.I.G. meetings keep businesses up to date
Approximately 90 business owners and managers participated in last week's series of Business Information Group (B.I.G.) meetings for the Chisholm Trail Parkway. The NTTA held three separate meetings for the Interstate 30/downtown area, the Hulen Street bridge area and South Fort Worth, as part of its ongoing public involvement efforts.
B.I.G.s are designed to help business owners and managers stay connected with the project so that they are able to provide information to their customers and suppliers. Representatives from project partners City of Fort Worth and the Texas Department of Transportation also presented information about related projects during the sessions.
These groups meet quarterly, and the next round of meetings is tentatively scheduled for summer 2012. For more information or to join one or all of the B.I.G.s, please email ChisholmTrail@ntta.org or call (817) 916-5105.
