Chisholm Trail Parkway is a 27.6-mile toll road that will extend from Tarrant County to Johnson County, starting from Fort Worth's central business district at Interstate 30 and continuing to U.S. 67 in Cleburne. The NTTA began initial construction in April 2010 on Section 2C, one of the northernmost sections of the project, located in Fort Worth near Union Pacific Railroad's Davidson Yard. In March 2010, the Texas Department of Transportation began construction of Section 3A, a $117 million American Recovery and Reinvestment Act project. Section 3A consists of local access improvements to Interstate 20/State Highway 183 (Southwest Boulevard) at CTP. Construction of the remaining project sections is underway. The entire CTP project is anticipated to open to traffic in mid-2014.

Relief on Hulen Street Coming Soon
The NTTA and the City of Fort Worth have worked together to develop a solution that will help alleviate the construction-related congestion along the Hulen Street bridge. Crews will stage construction of a storm line in the area allowing crews to expedite the construction of an additional northbound lane of traffic near the intersection of Hulen Street and Vickery Boulevard. The new traffic configuration is expected to be in place by late February.
Crews have been working in the Hulen Street area since April 2010. Once the construction of the new Hulen Street bridge is complete and the existing bridge is demolished, motorists will be able to drive across the bridge with greater capacity and pedestrian-friendly amenities, including three lanes of traffic in each direction and a 10-foot sidewalk on the northbound side of the bridge.

Eastbound Bryant Irvin Entrance to SH 183 Closed
Texas Department of Transportation construction crews switched traffic to a new section of frontage road on eastbound SH 183 between Bryant Irvin Road and Insurance Lane the week of Jan. 9. As part of the traffic switch, the existing eastbound Bryant Irvin Road entrance ramp to SH 183 was closed. Access to SH 183 eastbound from Bryant Irvin Road will be restored in approximately two months, when crews are able to complete the construction of a temporary ramp. Motorists wanting to travel eastbound from the Bryant Irvin Road area should instead take the eastbound I-20 frontage road.
The $117 million access improvement project at I-20/SH 183isin preparation for the future SH 121/Chisholm Trail Parkway. The project will construct several new bridges, access ramps and new SH 121/Chisholm Trail Parkway frontage roads as well as lowering and rebuilding the SH 183 main lanes. Completion is scheduled for spring 2013.
All closures are subject to weather conditions and will be postponed as necessary.
The NTTA appreciates the public's patience during this construction and reminds everyone to use extra precaution while driving through work zones.
For more information about upcoming lane closures and traffic-related news along NTTA roadways, go to the "Chisholm Trail Lane/Ramp Closures" listing at www.ntta.org or call (817) 207-0184.
