In April we welcomed the birth of our 2^nd daughter, Billie.  Becoming a mom is the best feeling, biggest role anyone can ever have and hardest job there is.  Here's this new life entrusted in your care to love and take care of for the rest of its life, try not to screw it up!

With the first kid I felt it was hectic and overwhelming, asking myself, "When is it going to get easier?"  The second time around I find myself enjoying all of Billie's stages, even the newborn and infant ones.  Why was I such nut job the first time around and this time totally calm?  Is she a good baby, am I just more experienced or both?   Don't get me wrong, we enjoyed all of our first daughter's stages, it just seemed like we were in a mini tornado during it all and someone hit fast forward.

I just know now that around the corner Billie will be walking and talking soon.  She's at that age now where she looks into my eyes and lights up.  She smiles every time I walk into the room and just wants to be held.  I seem to find myself pausing and making a mental note of it.  Her first smile, giggle, the first time she'll eat ice cream and see Santa - I cherish those types of moments.  These are the things I enjoy about being a new mom again.  I get to witness a person's "firsts" and a world unfold through their eyes, but at a slower pace...
