Greetings!     

 

 

Welcome to the April/May 2012 issue of my coaching newsletter! I'm a little late with this newsletter as I took a long overdue and much anticipated holiday for 3 weeks in March and April and now feel fresh, invigorated and bursting with new ideas and news!   

  

There is a lot to be said for a proper holiday - as a coach I encourage my clients to take charge of their lives and focus on what is important (taking time out to re-energise, re-focus and relax.)  However I admit that I've been guilty of focusing so much on others that I forgot about myself. How could I let this happen?  With encouragement from some wonderful, dear, old friends from my Hong Kong Island School days, we organised our first reunion in 34 years!  We'd actually planned this in the 1990's, in the 2000's and 2010's however 'life' always took precedence over the 5 of us all getting together in one city at the same time.  So, in late March the 5 of us bit the bullet and had our amazing reunion (one of us lives in Hong Kong so the rest of us flew in from Sydney, Mumbai, Auckland and Singapore.)  All I can say is that there is something special about childhood friends.  It was like we'd never been apart - the laughter, the stories, the joking, the care and love we share for each other - how could we have waited over 30 years to reunite?

I'd like to sum up my trip down memory lane with a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson, "It is one of the blessings of old friends that you can afford to be stupid with them."

Part two of my trip was 9 days in London with my beautiful eldest daughter who is following her dream pursuing a fashion career in a fashion capitol.

Mothers and daughters ... simply heaven and so special to be together ... and retail therapy is always nice too! 

 

Back home and back to business, I'm working with a selection of inspirational clients and enjoying my corporate training workshops around Australia.  In this newsletter I'm focusing on YOUR personal brand - business etiquette, your professional image and for ladies AND men, how to get a professional style analysis without leaving the comfort of your own home!  Let me know your thoughts, I'd love to hear from you!
