Two new LMP's Join New Seattle Massage! We are pleased to announce the addition of Dennis Corum, LMP and Christopher Canty, LMP. Dennis Corum: Dennis is a 2006 graduate of Brenneke School of Massage. Although he came to massage later in life, experiencing his work, one would think he had been born to it! Perhaps this is because he has applied his keen mind and jumped in with both feet - or perhaps we should say "hands" - to develop his skills to the highest degree. Dennis is clearly about getting results for his clients. Since graduating from Brenneke, besides practicing massage full-time, Dennis has apprenticed in Visceral Manipulation with Naturopathic Doctor, Greg Yasuda, and has completed courses in Healing Psychological Trauma; Repetitive Strain Injuries, Upper Extremities and Champissage or Indian Head Massage. He has also become certified in intraoral massage (for relief of TMJ dysfunction, headaches, whiplash and other head, neck and jaw issues) and has obtained credentials with most insurance companies for injury treatment. Dennis is currently registered with Labor & Industries and offers billing services for motor vehicle accident injuries covered by PIP . We are awaiting confirmation from the major insurance companies that will link his credentials with our billing services and are anxious to begin referring health insurance clients to him. He has been practicing Reiki and energy work for over 15 years, becoming a Reiki Master (Usui System) in 2005. Although newly licensed, he reports giving his first massages to his mom and dad when he was age 10. Na turally gifted and motivated to excel, Christopher achieved a 4.0 grade point at Bellevue Massage School. At The Evergreen State College, he earned a BA in Alternatives to Healing Approaches and provided leadership and coordination for Evergreen's Annual Sustainable Living Conference. He also won a study abroad scholarship, which took him to India in 2007. Grounded in yoga, holistic healing and Reiki, Christopher's clients will experience the spiritual dimension and compassionate touch he brings to his work. At the same time, those wanting a strong, physical massage will be impressed with the depth of pressure he is able to exert, when requested. Christopher will be available for appointments 9AM - 9PM on Saturdays and, whenever possible, as a sub throughout the summer, as he weaves his massage practice with his other love - gardening and tree care for Seattle Parks Dept.
