Welcome Spring from New Seattle Massage!

I love spring anywhere, but if I could choose I would always greet it in a garden.

Thai Massage Session

STRETCH INTO SPRING WITH A THAI MASSAGE!

Thai Massage is a dynamic form of therapeutic massage. It is also known here in the West as "Thai Yoga Massage". The origins of Thai Massage can be traced back 2500 years to Indian healing art of Ayurveda. It is traditionally practiced in a Buddhist temple or "Wat" in Thailand, which also operates as a center for the health care of the common people. Thai massage is a bit like Shiatsu although more interactive.

A Thai massage practitioner uses his/her hands, feet, arms and legs to guide the client into various passive stretches that often resemble yoga postures. A rhythmic, rocking motion is used to gently increase the stretch, moving the client to their maximum stretch.
Preceding the movements into the stretches, the practitioner palms, thumbs, rotates or stretches the "sen" lines or also known as in Chinese medicine meridian lines. This relaxes the muscles, opens the joint, encouraged the flow of Chi (Qi) or Prana, and allows the client to easily move into the stretches. The more skillful the Practitioner the more healing the session becomes.

Thai massage is good for a variety of musculoskeletal concerns, including upper and lower back problems, neck and shoulder concerns, sciatica and hip joint disorders, tension in hamstrings or quadriceps and lower leg soreness, tension, pain and stiffness. Consult with a Thai massage practitioner for contraindications and number of treatments to address your health maintenance.
