Welcome to Summer!
June is a big month here at Sapphire. Our five year anniversary party kicked it off with a bang, the summer session began and that is just the beginning. Already this summer our AmeriKids competed in nationals and rocked the house! Another great summer event is our phenomenal day camps that are available all summer long! When the session wraps up in a couple short months, the weather will be the only thing cooling down! Our programs will heat up and fire your kids up! Sapphire Dance will be expanding and the state fair meet will be here before you know it. Make sure to keep an eye on our "what's up" bulletin board every time you're in the gym so you can stay up to date on all the great things coming your way! |

5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY PARTY
From the Velcro wall to the mountain climber, the anniversary party seemed to have something for everyone. Some parents found their niche enjoying other parents' company over a hot dog and some lemonade while most of the kids spent their time running from the bounce house to the bungee run then back to a game for more candy. Whether parent or child, you could see on the many painted faces that joy was in the air.
When Sapphire Gymnastics Academy first opened its doors in 2005, three principals were always kept in mind: Faith, Hope and Joy. We will always strive to instill an expectation and anticipation of excellence in all students; Hope. We are committed to instilling confidence, trust and belief in oneself to each child; Faith. Sapphire students will learn to find delight and a source of pleasure in physical activity; Joy. |

SUMMER CAMPS
Don't forget about our awesome summer camps! We still have some room in a few July camps. Here are a few:
July 6-8 - AmeriKids Extra Gym Time - 1:00-3:00pm
July 12-15 Treasure Hunters Camp - 5:30-7:00pm - (Ages 3-7)
July 19-23 - Fun with Food - 9:00am-12:00pm (Ages 3-7)
July 26-29 - Cheer/Gym/Dance - 5:30-7:00pm (Ages 6+) $75

From movement classes for tots to competition class for the progressive dancer, Sapphire has all your dancing needs covered. Coming this fall, we will offer a wide variety of classes from ballet to technique; hip hop to grand allegro; tap, jazz and movin and groovin. We also offer combo classes that combine gymnastics and dance as well as classes that focus solely on dance but incorporate many styles. Our technique classes provides your dancer that little extra push to advance their skills and strengthen their bodies. We also offer private lessons upon request. This is a very useful tool not only for dancers, but also for gymnasts. Private lessons can really give your choreography, floor routines and flexibility a boost.
We now offer a competition class for kids 5 and up. Entering this class can be done by invitation or audition. This is a great way to break into the world of competitive dance in a fun and low key way. Sapphire competition only requires one costume and all competitions are instate, unless otherwise requested. If you have a gifted dancer who is looking for a little more spice, without the stress, this may be the class for you!

AMERIKIDS NATIONALS
We are proud to report that we had a whole group of outstanding performances in the AmeriKids National Competition! Many of the girls put up very high scores and placed exceedingly well. Three of our AmeriKids really stood out! Chloe Carpenter received an 8.8 on floor giving her first place in the event and scored a 35.95 all around giving her another first place finish. Megan Holiday was given a 9.475 on beam and took first. McKenna Natzke took first on floor with a 9.7. Congratulations to all our girls who competed and did such a wonderful job! If you would like to see a full list of scores from nationals, they are posted in the Urbandale lobby on the AmeriKids bulletin board. |
FALL CLASSES Can you believe it?! Summer has only just begun and already we have a few fall classes that are full! Don't wait until the last minute to sign up or you may not be able to get the class you want. We are taking registrations for Fall all through Summer so don't hesitate to sign up today! |

STATE FAIR MEET
Hey everyone! We have a GREAT opportunity for all the kids, boys and girls, ages 3 and up. We have been invited to participate in the Iowa State Fair tumbling meet. They will learn a short 10 skill routine on floor and then have the chance to compete at the state fair! Everyone who participates will receive an award and will only compete against kids their age and skill level. The meet will take place on Saturday August 21st; the times will be decided after all the entries have been turned in. The entry forms will be handed out to your child the week of July 19th and they MUST be turned in NO LATER than July 30th. There will be a $30 entry fee for this meet. We hope everyone will be able to participate! |
